Job Description

Role : Deputy Manager - IT

Experience Level: Mid Level (10-15 years of experience)

Location : Bangalore or Hyderabad

Mode : 5 Days Office

Notice Period : 30 Days Max ( Immediate Joiners Preferred )

Key Responsibilities:

IT Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
    • Lead long-term technology planning to ensure scalability, flexibility, and innovation.
    • Provide technology roadmaps, evaluating emerging technologies to determine their impact and feasibility

Team Leadership and Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, ensuring the department is staffed with skilled professionals in various IT domains (e.g., infrastructure, security, development, support).
    • Foster a collaborative environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.

Infrastructure Management:

    • Oversee the design, deployment, and management of robust and secure IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud environments.
    • Ensure systems availability, performance, and reliability through effective monitoring and maintenance.
    • Manage data centers, disaster recovery solutions, and business continuity plans.

IT Operations:

    • Ensure the smooth and secure day-to-day operation of IT services, providing high-quality technical support to all departments.
    • Establish and monitor IT service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely delivery of IT support.
    • Continuously optimize IT operations by implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
  1. Vendor and Contract Management:
    • Manage relationships with external IT service providers, software vendors, and consultants.
    • Negotiate and oversee contracts, ensuring optimal cost management and service delivery.
    • Evaluate vendor performance, ensuring compliance with service agreements and organizational standards.
  2. Budgeting and Financial Management:
    • Develop, manage, and control the IT departments budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
    • Present business cases for IT investment to senior leadership and justify the return on investment (ROI).
    • Monitor and report on IT financial performance, ensuring expenditures align with business priorities.
  3. Cybersecurity and Compliance:
    • Ensure the organizations technology infrastructure is secure by implementing cybersecurity best practices, including firewalls, antivirus software, encryption, and data protection policies.
    • Collaborate with the information security team to mitigate risks, oversee audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
    • Proactively monitor and respond to security incidents, developing contingency plans to minimize impact.
  4. Digital Transformation and Innovation:
    • Lead digital transformation initiatives to modernize legacy systems and implement new technologies, including cloud migration, automation, and AI-driven solutions.
    • Foster a culture of innovation within the IT department, encouraging the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.
    • Act as a change leader, managing the impact of technological change across the organization.
  5. Project Management:
    • Oversee the successful execution of all IT projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
    • Implement project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools to ensure efficient project tracking and communication.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with department heads to assess technology needs and deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
    • Serve as a key liaison between IT and executive leadership, communicating technology initiatives and their business value.
    • Advocate for technology investments that align with the companys strategic vision.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
    • Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Industry certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or any relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 10-15 years of experience in IT.
    • Extensive experience overseeing IT infrastructure, network management, and software solutions in a large-scale environment.
    • Proven success in leading complex projects, managing IT teams, and transforming IT operations.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge of network architecture, systems administration, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), and database management.
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA).
    • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, CRM solutions, and other business-critical software.
    • Proficiency in ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and project management platforms (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
  • Leadership and Management Skills:
    • Strong leadership abilities, with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Experience with coaching, mentoring, and developing IT talent.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across departments.
    • Analytical thinking with a focus on strategic planning and business alignment.
