Title - Business Analyst, Domain Consultant, SME Mining, Metals and Process Industry

Overall Purpose of the Role

What is the overall purpose of the role? What are the high level objectives/business impact/scope and responsibilities?

Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and development team. Collect requirements from business stakeholders. Analysis, transform, document, resolve the business problems with the help of the development team. Domain and industry experience in mining and metals industries desirable.

Must have a strong understanding of mining & metals operations as well the technologies involved and related application packages.

Possess knowledge or exposure to digital solutions in mining & metals (e.g., Remote control operation technologies, Production system applications, Fleet Management systems, Mine Planning, Ore scheduling and logistics, Plant automation, Steel making etc.) good to have exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions. Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.
• Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
• Staying up to date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
• Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.
• Participate in Sprint planning, backlog planning sessions
• Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
• Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
• Managing competing resources and priorities based on business needs and requirements.
• Review and verification of deliverables with the project team (internal acceptance) and client (external acceptance) and assuring timely completion of projects.
• Maintain and create project documentation (user manual, functional specification, project plan, flowchart etc.) up to date.
• Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts.
• Work with development team members, contractors and/or vendors on impact analysis and to complete assignments.
• Facilitate the next generation IT-led solutions and deployment support for small to large scale projects.

Mandatory Skills

- Graduation/Post-Graduation/MBA/MS in Mining Engineering/Geoscience/Processing/Metallurgy or related area from reputed institutes

- 5-12 years of relevant experience as a domain consultant/specialist/subject matter expert or an industry practitioner in mining, metals or process industry

- Should have worked as business analyst or domain consultant for at least one project delivery

Other Soft Skills

- Any relevant certification/trainings in CSPO/Product owner/Business analyst

- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills

- Knowledge of solution/offerings development, thought leadership, whitepapers

- Excellent documentation and presentation skills

- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills

Desired Competencies

Industry exposure or experience

- Experience in Mining, Metals, Process Manufacturing

- Knowledge of any mining software applications/products

- Experience in ERP, Supply chain, IOT, Industry 4.0
