Overview :


InfoMagnus is looking for a Practice Technical Lead for our Modern Dev/DevOps Practice. This role will help our customers improve the lives of developers by working on a modern development platform. As a Practice Technical Lead, you will support developers through your work with some of the biggest companies in the world on various aspects of software delivery. You will help our customers design, prioritize, launch, and speed up projects by building on GitHub. You will excel in this role if you are a highly technical person who can work with customer business and tech leadership to map out software delivery initiative roadmaps, write code, and coach younger developers on the team. You will work with customers from the planning phase through to maintaining the system. You will be a customer's primary technical contact at GitHub and will build relationships with administrators and their tech leaders. This can be a remote position.

Role Description :

Our partner organizations, GitHub, AWS, and Microsoft, offer us a unique relationship that allows you to access ongoing learning, certification and development opportunities to become a top professional in the industry. The Practice Technical Lead will have the following responsibilities:

Solving customer challenges with solutions: Principally, to understand what our customers want and to help them design a solution. This role requires a strong customer orientation and a problem-solving mindset. You will assess customer challenges and work with customer engineering and leadership teams, GitHub team members, and possibly the open-source community to find solutions.

Providing technical guidance: You will need to explain various technologies to your customers clearly. You will need to know Modern Dev/DevOps's tools and platform well enough to evaluate important technical solutions to help your customers make informed decisions, aiming to create high-quality, reusable solutions for customers. Working closely with colleagues, often in pairs, is essential to creating great solutions.

Helping customers adopt Modern Dev/DevOps through training: You will need to teach your customers how to use Modern Dev/DevOps features and capabilities using prescribed content and labs. You will need to handle the audience with different levels of experience and knowledge of the product. Working with the customer and using your experience and product certifications is necessary as you support customers through GitHub implementation, workflow review, migration, and advanced topics.

Showing leadership by helping customers set their success criteria for improvement initiatives involving Modern Dev/DevOps.

Communicating and sharing progress between GitHub and customers to ensure expectations are clear and progress is being made toward achieving improvement goals.

Creating customized solutions: GitHub is often the core platform our customers use to deliver software to their own end users and customers. This role requires active involvement in creating these solutions. This may be moving source code to Modern Dev/DevOps (including GitHub from older source control systems, setting up pipelines for Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, or even helping to automate the provisioning of infrastructure using IaaS tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Puppet, Chef, or CloudFormation. The challenges for each customer will vary, offering endless opportunities to grow.

Coaching and upskilling InfoMagnus consultants who are members of the practice and share the best practices with other groups within InfoMagnus.

Responsibilities :

- Be the primary point of contact and trusted advisor in a technical capacity for customers.

- Help transform software delivery at some of the largest organizations through hands-on assistance.

- Demonstrate leadership in owning the development and delivery of adaptive solutions.

- Proactively seek out new GitHub enhancements and provide demonstrations/adaptive tooling.

- Grow the Modern Dev/DevOps team and closely integrate between US and India offices.-

- Foster and organize internal upskilling using lunch-learns, hackathons etc.

- Contribute to business growth and provide sales support as needed.

- Managing customer success criteria, understand the pulse of the customer, and providing an exceptional experience with Modern Dev/DevOps tools (including GitHub)

- Build customer business artifacts, such as company-specific roll-out plans and timelines.

- Work closely with the Project Manager to field customer questions and requests for services.

- Study reference customer cases for concepts to apply for specific customer scenarios.

- Track and share progress with GitHub and our customer to ensure expectations are clear and progress is being made.

- Discover issues that arise and create plans to solve their problems.

- Be on constant watch for process improvements.

- Seek out automation opportunities for repetitive tasks.

Qualifications :


- Deep experience with GitHub Enterprise to deliver software and at least one major DevOps toolchain (Azure DevOps, Atlassian, GitLab)

- 6-9 years of solid experience in Software Development and DevOps including team lead or development manager roles

- A strong understanding of IT infrastructure, governance, compliance, and business process management

- Interest in developer productivity and development process improvements

- Interest in working creatively with customers to understand technical and business requirements.

- A demonstrable comfort in both facilitating and developing solutions.

- Aptitude to proactively engage customers with aspirational and recommended technical deliverables in a self-driven manner.

- Implement and test solutions based on requirements and customer feedback.

- An understanding of several of these methodologies and tools

- Strong skills in Bash/Ruby/JavaScript/Typescript for scripting and automation development

- Strong skills in at least one programming language/stack (.NET, Java, Python, Rust)

- In-depth knowledge of the Git version control system, pull requests and GitHub Enterprise organization.

- Familiarity with the GitHub platform and associated GitHub Actions workflows

- Software development methods such as Agile, Scrum, Lean, Waterfall

- Software project tools like Azure Boards, Jira, Pivotal Tracker, Trello, Asana, and MS Project

- Continuous integration and build automation with Azure Pipelines, GitLab, Jenkins, TeamCity, TFS, TravisCI, CircleCI

- Experience configuring the following technologies :LDAP, Active Directory, and other SAML/Single-Sign-on services

- AWS, Azure, GCP, vSphere, ESXi and other virtual infrastructure tools

- Demonstrated ability to connect with people, lead client projects, and help clients solve problems with modern dev tools (including GitHub).

- Experience with DevSecOps tools for secrets scanning and dependency analysis.

- Strong ability to cheerfully handle client expectations and project scope during all stages of a client engagement.

- Superb written and verbal communication skills

- Self-motivation, energy, and enthusiasm

- Experience and desire to teach and upskill your development teams

Desired Skills :


- Experience as a technology coach/trainer.


- Familiarity with other version control systems, such as SVN, BitBucket, CVS, ClearCase, AccuRev, etc.


- Continuous integration and application lifecycle management (ALM) knowledge


- Experience building screencasts and webinars.


- 5+ years of experience in Software Development or DevOps-

- Familiarity with the GitHub platform and associated workflows

- Prior Networking and Infrastructure related roles

- Familiarity with value stream management and process improvement methods

Experience configuring the following technologies :


- LDAP, Active Directory, and other SAML/Single-Sign-on services


- VMware vSphere, ESXi, AWS, Azure, GCP, and other virtual infrastructure tools-

Certifications Preferred :


- Preferable to have attained Microsoft Certified Trainer, AWS Certified Trainer or similar technical qualifications.

- Preferable to have attained any relevant Cloud Certifications (AWS, Microsoft) (Admin or Developer Focused)
