Job Description
JD - Lead - Information Security Engineer
Support Hours:
Tools and Technologies:
Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls and best practices across the organization.
* Conduct and oversee vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and threat modeling exercises.
* Lead incident response investigations, including root cause analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery.
* Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.
* Mentor and guide junior security engineers.
* Stay abreast of emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
* Research and evaluate new security technologies and tools.
* Collaborate with other departments to integrate security into all aspects of the business.
* Represent the security team in internal and external meetings.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of the overall security program.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
* 8+ years of progressive experience in an Information Security role.
* Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model).
* In-depth knowledge of common security protocols (e. g. , TLS/SSL, VPN, SSH, PKI).
* Experience with a wide range of security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, DLP, and cloud security solutions.
* Strong understanding of security concepts (e. g. , threat intelligence, risk management, compliance frameworks).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to security.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Relevant advanced security certifications (e. g. , CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS certifications).
* Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Experience with scripting languages (e. g. , Python, PowerShell).
* Experience with security orchestration and automation platforms (SOAR).
* Experience with container security and microservices.
* Experience with security research and development.
