Category Group Head | Immediate Requirement
Category Manager plays a crucial role in ecommerce companies by overseeing the strategic management and optimization of product categories. This position requires a deep understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive landscape to drive revenue growth and enhance customer experience within assigned product categories. The Category Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and supply chain, to achieve business objectives and maximize sales performance.This role demands the candidate to be a go-getter who has a knack for problem-solving and growth hacking.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Category Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to drive sales growth, enhance customer experience, improve order fill rate and improve conversion rates. Stay updated on ecommerce industry trends, and customer preferences to recommend innovative strategies and initiatives. Managing Vendor base and to effectively grow the business with them.
2. Pricing Strategy: Implement pricing strategies based on your understanding of market trends, competitor pricing, and customer preferences, using data-driven insights to maximize sales and profitability.
3. Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and market positioning.
4. Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytical tools and performance metrics, combined with your field experience, to make informed decisions, optimize category performance, and track progress towards goals.
5. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, operations, and customer support, leveraging your vendor relationships to ensure alignment and successful execution of category initiatives.
6. Project & Team Management
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field from premier institutes (preferred).
- Proven experience (6-8 years) in e-commerce, sales or procurement of industrial goods.
- Proficiency in data analysis, using insights to drive data-driven pricing decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in product curation, supplier management, and inventory optimization.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, honed through vendor interactions.
