Position Summary
As a Research and Learning Specialist at Indus Action, you will play a crucial role in researching, analysing, evaluating, and communicating the impact of our organisations initiatives and projects. In addition to these responsibilities, a significant aspect of your role will involve facilitating learning within the organisation. You will be tasked with integrating insights and knowledge from various projects into our organisational learning processes, ensuring that these learnings are effectively disseminated and applied across different teams. This position is ideal for someone passionate about social impact, skilled in research and data analysis and possesses a strong aptitude for fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Your excellent communication and storytelling abilities will not only convey the meaningful change we drive but also enhance our internal knowledge and learning capabilities.
Roles & Responsibilities
Research design and planning
Collaborate with the research team to define research objectives and formulate research questions.
Design research methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative data collection methods.
Develop sampling strategies and data collection protocols.
Data collection and management
Design surveys, interviews, focus groups, and literature reviews as part of research projects.
Manage data collection processes, ensuring data quality and integrity.
Oversee data entry and organisation.
Data analysis and reporting
Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
Prepare comprehensive reports, impact assessments, and case studies to communicate our organisations achievements.
Translate research findings and academic literature into meaningful and accessible insights for various communication channels, including blogs, the Indus Action website and newsletters.
Engage with other partner organisations to initiate joint field work toward shared objectives across the citizen welfare access funnel.
Facilitating Learning
Foster a culture of continuous learning within the organisation by disseminating research findings and insights.
Develop and implement learning initiatives that enhance organisational capacity and effectiveness.
Author quarterly learning memos to share insights on impact and pathways.
Collaborate with different functions to integrate learning into their practices and decision-making processes.
Requirements
Education and Experience
A bachelors or master\u2019s degree in public policy, development management, program evaluation or other social science disciplines is preferred.
3-4 years of experience in policy implementation, impact communications, research, and/or program evaluation is desired.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Excellent communication abilities.
A strong drive to contribute to welfare and poverty alleviation initiatives.
