Job Description

As an SEO Specialist at The Indian Express, you will be responsible for driving organic traffic, improving search engine rankings, and enhancing the online visibility of our news content. Working closely with editorial and technical teams, you will develop and execute strategies to optimize our digital assets and ensure that our news articles reach a wider audience across search engines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive keyword research to identify relevant topics, trends, and search queries in the news domain.
• Optimize news articles, headlines, and metadata for targeted keywords, ensuring alignment with editorial standards and audience preferences.
• Implement SEO techniques to enhance website visibility, authority, and user experience.
• Monitor and analyze website performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics and Search Console.
• Perform rank tracking and competition analysis using tools like SEMrush and Similarweb.
• Identify opportunities for content optimization, site architecture improvements, and technical SEO enhancements.
• Collaborate with editorial teams to develop content strategies that align with SEO objectives and editorial priorities.
• Stay updated on industry trends, search engine algorithms, and best practices in SEO to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• Provide regular reporting and insights on SEO performance, highlighting key metrics, trends, and recommendations for optimization.
• Collaborate with editorial teams to plan for upcoming events and strategies to attain maximum visibility on SERP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, preferably in a technical field such as Engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience in SEO, with a focus on news or digital media platforms.
• Strong understanding of search engine algorithms, keyword research tools, and SEO best practices.
• Proficiency in tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, and Similarweb.
