Job Overview:

As a Senior SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive SEO strategy with a heavy focus on off-page optimization. Youll need to be technically proficient and have a deep understanding of Shopify SEO. Your primary goal will be to increase organic traffic and search visibility across multiple competitive markets, emphasizing aggressive link-building and off-page tactics, while also ensuring the website's on-page SEO health is well-maintained.



Key Responsibilities:


1. Strategy Development & Execution:


  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive SEO strategies focused on high-growth markets (USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand).
  • Build aggressive link-building campaigns, focusing on high-authority domains and competitive niches.
  • Perform competitive analysis and identify opportunities to outperform competitors in SERPs.

2. Technical SEO:


  • Advanced Shopify SEO optimization, including handling complex URL structures, liquid code, schema markup, and site speed improvements.
  • Conduct detailed site audits to identify and fix technical SEO issues (crawl errors, indexation problems, canonicalization, etc.).
  • Manage and optimize advanced SEO tags (Hreflang, meta tags, robots.txt, XML sitemap) for better visibility across regions.

3. Off-Page SEO & Link-Building:


  • Develop a robust link-building strategy focusing on high-quality backlinks from relevant, authoritative sites in competitive markets.
  • Create and execute outreach campaigns, including relationship-building with bloggers, influencers, and authoritative sites.
  • Monitor backlinks and disavow harmful links using industry-standard tools.

4. On-Page SEO:


  • Perform advanced keyword research and competitive analysis to optimize product pages, collections, and blog content.
  • Optimize existing pages for featured snippets, rich results, and improved CTR through compelling meta descriptions and title tags.
  • Implement structured data and schema markup to enhance visibility in search results.

5. Performance Tracking & Reporting:


  • Track and analyze SEO metrics, using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.
  • Provide detailed reports on KPIs, including organic traffic growth, keyword rankings, backlink profiles, and overall SEO ROI.
  • Use A/B testing and other advanced techniques to continuously improve CTR, bounce rates, and conversion rates.

6. Industry Trend Analysis & Adaptation:


  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices in e-commerce SEO.
  • Adapt and pivot strategies quickly to respond to changes in search engine algorithms and emerging market trends.

7. Collaboration & Team Leadership:


  • Collaborate with the content, design, and development teams to ensure alignment between SEO and broader digital strategies.
  • Mentor junior team members and oversee outsourced SEO and content initiatives.

Qualifications:


Experience: 5+ years in SEO with a proven track record in e-commerce, preferably on the Shopify platform.


Technical Skills: Strong command of technical SEO, including advanced use of Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and other SEO tools.


Shopify Expertise: Deep understanding of Shopify SEO intricacies, including handling 301 redirects, optimizing Liquid templates, and leveraging Shopifys built-in SEO features.


Market Focus: Demonstrated success in optimizing for highly competitive markets like the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.


Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable strategies.


Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate strategies and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Proactive & Aggressive Approach: A bold, assertive attitude toward achieving top-ranking results in competitive niches.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale e-commerce platforms.
  • Knowledge of international SEO strategies, including targeting multiple regions and languages.
  • Certifications in SEO or related digital marketing fields.
