Service Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• To undertake independently the installation, commissioning, maintenance, trouble shooting, repair/overhaul of Diesel Engine / Gear Box/ Thruster at site in accordance with OEM manuals & specific instructions.
• To Perform various functional tests on Engine, accessories & Electrical equipment & rectify deviations if necessary.
• To Repair manufacture fixed Pitch Propeller.
• To resolve the technical matters & completing the services according to the work order & the acceptance of the customers. To Proving the Engines performance as per the contractual requirement of customer with strict compliance & class.
• To provide the service / investigation reports wherever is applicable.
• To Prepare activity plan to resolve customer complaints and monitor the plan Vs achievement levels.
• To handle customer relations: Participate in meetings with customers, understanding their requirements with patience and empathy, communicating in professional & tactful manner & communicating with them to determine future requirements. Improve Customer satisfaction index. Establish direct customer contacts and promote brand image by performing the regular service campaigns, interactions in retaining the customer confidence.
• Coordination with shipyard, Ship Superintendent, Ship owner and Chief engineer at regular intervals.
• Complete the equipment overhauling project in stipulated period.
• To develop and update his own skills and knowledge, to meet the job requirements through training & self learning. Responsible for support operations in evaluation and implementation of action plans to eliminate root causes of non-conformances, Provides leadership and support for the development and implementation of continuous improvement activities throughout the organization.
• To advise, instruct & train the new team members in carrying out assigned tasks, in using documentation, tools, customers drawings etc. for the tasks.
• To observe the safety regulations and guidelines when performing work at customer's site or in house.
• To support technical engineers at various places
• Adherence to Company Policy and Procedure (CPP)
• Manage special Assignment from time to time.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification required - B. Tech (Mechanical)/ B. Tech (Marines)

Candidates with marine industry experience will be preferred.
