Senior Technical Writer

So, what s the role all about?

The mission critical nature of the NICE Public Safety business means we have an unwavering belief in clear and effective communication. We are searching for an experienced technical writer to join our team and help take ownership of the solution documentation for our current Public Safety portfolio. Your audience will be Customers, Solution Engineers, Support Engineers, Product Managers and R&D. As an ideal candidate, you will have proven experience in a highly technical field, such as software development, computer science, or engineering. Your ability to evaluate and analyse complex information is essential and you must have a natural desire to help people understand things that are, by their very nature, hard to understand.

How will you make an impact?

• Obtain a deep understanding of products and services NICE Public Safety offer
• Independently lead the ongoing maintenance of and improvements to the documentation and online help for our industry leading solution suites
• Own delivery of full-suite solution documentation and online help within our New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
• Manage multi-language translations for Product, Documentation and Online Help
• To translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content for each user type in our target audiences
• Continue development of a comprehensive suite of Documentation and Online Help that meets our organisational standards
• Develop appropriate processes and contact networks to ensure review and feedback results in overall product improvements
• Develop and maintain detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications
• Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements
• Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
• Work with Product, Sales, Development, Service, and Support leads to identify all documentation repositories and requirements
• Manage collateral release within the defined development process and documentation portals
• Lead reviews, design and delivery of a new documentation portal to service the breadth of stakeholders from Engineering through Sales to Customers.
• Create and maintain documentation templates that uphold organizational and legal standards, and allow for easy data migration
• Knowledge transfer to Technical Training resources on new requirements and upcoming release dates

Have you got what it takes?

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related degree
• 4 - 7 years of industry experience as an effective technical writer
• Very high level of verbal and written English with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Understanding of Agile and Kanban methodologies
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
• Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
• Great fluency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word and Visio.
• Good experience with Madcap Flare
