Design Engineer 1

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer with expertise in CAD modeling to join our dynamic team. As a Design Engineer, you will report to Surgical Planning Engineers, collaborating closely to translate surgical requirements into precise CAD models for planning and guidance in the healthcare sector.

Your responsibilities will include creating detailed CAD models for pre-planning surgical cases, generating reports for planned cases, and designing custom surgical guides to meet specific requirements. While experience with Freeform software is preferred, proficiency in other CAD software is acceptable, given the adaptability required in this role. You will play a pivotal role in the interdisciplinary team, ensuring seamless communication between Surgical Planning Engineers, Radiology Technicians and Biomedical Engineers to optimize surgical outcomes.

Role & responsibilities

- Collaborate closely with Surgical Planning Engineers to translate surgical requirements into detailed CAD models using Freeform software or other CAD tools.

- Generate comprehensive reports documenting the planning process for surgical cases.

- Design custom surgical guides to meet specific requirements, incorporating design requests from surgeons.

- Work in a cross-functional team environment to integrate CAD models seamlessly into existing workflows.

- Stay updated on advancements in CAD technology and healthcare practices, actively contributing insights and ideas to drive innovation within the company.

Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.

- Proven experience in CAD modeling, with proficiency in Freeform software or other CAD tools.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical design solutions.

- Prior experience in the healthcare industry or medical device design is preferred but not required.
