Business Analyst - Data Analytics (Retail & Ecommerce)

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate and analytical Business Analyst to join our growing Data Analytics team! In this role, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and data-driven solutions within the exciting world of retail and e-commerce. You will collaborate with stakeholders across departments to leverage data for improved performance, customer insights, and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

Partner with business leaders, marketing, merchandising, and operations teams to understand their challenges and opportunities.
Translate business needs into clear and concise data analysis objectives.
Work closely with data scientists and analysts to define the scope and requirements of data analysis projects.
Gather, analyze, and document data requirements, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and accessibility.
Utilize SQL and data manipulation tools to extract, clean, and transform data for analysis.
Develop and maintain data dictionaries and technical documentation.
Design and create compelling data visualizations (dashboards, charts) to effectively communicate insights to non-technical audiences.
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, guiding them on how to leverage data-driven insights for improved decision-making.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in data analytics within retail and e-commerce.

Technical Skills

4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar data-focused role.
Proven experience working with SQL and data manipulation tools (Excel, Python libraries etc.).
Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) is a plus.
Working knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts is preferred.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Passion for data and a continuous desire to learn and stay updated with the latest trends.

Experience

Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a business analyst role, with a focus on data analytics or business intelligence is preferred.
Experience working in the retail and/or e-commerce industry is a strong plus.
