Project Associate 2D Parts Inspection using Computer Vision

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Project Associate to support our 2D parts inspection project leveraging

computer vision techniques. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to develop, test,

and deploy solutions for automated inspection systems. This role requires a strong foundation in

computer vision and programming, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and optimizing computer vision algorithms for 2D parts inspection.
• Preprocess and analyze image datasets, including tasks like noise reduction, segmentation, and feature extraction.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate vision algorithms into inspection systems.
• Conduct testing and performance evaluations of vision systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports summarizing findings and progress.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning technologies.

Education:

Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science,Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Python and computer vision libraries such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Experience with image processing techniques and machine learning algorithms.
• Knowledge of camera calibration, prototyping and Single Board Computers (SBCs).

Desirable:

• Familiarity with industrial automation and hardware integration.
• Prior experience with 2D parts inspection or similar projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Work Location: Walmart Centre for Tech Excellence, Indian Institute of Technology Madras,

Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
