QTP/UFT Test Engineer - Software Quality Assurance (4-6 yrs)

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using QTP/UFT.

- Create reusable functions and object repositories for automation frameworks.

- Design automation solutions that ensure test cases cover both positive and negative scenarios, including edge cases.

- Build and maintain test data for automation testing.

- Execute automated test scripts, analyze results, and generate detailed reports.

- Identify, document, and report bugs and discrepancies, providing detailed logs and replication steps.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate automated test coverage and ensure its efficiency.

- Develop and maintain automation frameworks using QTP/UFT in combination with other test management tools and version control systems.

- Implement keyword-driven, data-driven, and hybrid frameworks.

- Continuously improve the existing test frameworks to ensure high-quality code and minimal maintenance overhead.

- Integrate automated test scripts with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

- Work with DevOps teams to ensure automated tests are part of the build and deployment process.

- Review functional requirements, specifications, and user stories to design test plans and test cases.

- Ensure comprehensive test coverage by creating effective and reusable test cases for automated testing.

- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to test automation.

- Continuously evaluate and improve the automated testing process, frameworks, and tools.

- Perform regular script maintenance and updates as application functionalities evolve.

- Proactively identify areas for optimization and improve test execution time.

Skills and Qualifications :

- Extensive experience with QTP/UFT (Unified Functional Testing), including scripting, object repository management, and automation frameworks.

- Proficient in VBScript for QTP/UFT automation scripting.

- Experience with keyword-driven, data-driven, and hybrid frameworks.

- Familiarity with JIRA, Quality Center (ALM), or similar tools for test management and defect tracking.

- Working knowledge of Git, SVN, or similar tools for version control.

- Familiarity with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar tools for test automation integration within CI/CD pipelines.

- Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX for automated testing of web applications.

- Knowledge of tools like Postman, SoapUI, or integration with QTP/UFT for API testing.

- Basic SQL for creating and validating test data.

Experience :

- Experience in Automation Testing with a focus on QTP/UFT.

- Proven experience in automating functional, regression, and integration tests using QTP/UFT.

- Hands-on experience in creating and maintaining automated test scripts in an agile environment.

- Experience in integrating automation tests with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Relevant certifications in Automation Testing are a plus.
