Cost Accountant - Manufacturing Sector (2-6 yrs)

Position Summary:

The Cost Accountant is responsible for applying cost accounting principles to establish standard product costs, maintain effective internal controls, and ensure compliance. This role involves timely accounting, reconciliation of inventory, and variance management. The candidate will support operations and management through data analysis, providing insights to optimize profits, control costs, and improve processes. Additionally, the role includes managing audits related to costing and inventory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare cost sheets for products and services.

- Analyze inventory and costing, providing insights for improvement.

- Update standard costs in ERP (JDE) based on inputs from stakeholders.

- Generate manufacturing variance reports and recommend improvements to operations.

- Monitor daily inventory transactions and ensure accuracy.

- Prepare MIS reports on inventory and costing.

- Assist operations with process improvements to enhance inventory management and costing.

- Lead annual inventory counts, reconciliations, and variance reporting.

- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and work order reviews.

- Track daily inventory and cost batches in ERP.

- Ensure compliance with internal controls and standards for inventory and costing.

- Prepare inventory schedules and reports for internal and external audits.

- Prepare analytical reports on trends, offering recommendations for cost optimization.

- Support cost improvement initiatives across the business.

- Analyze and interpret data to recommend process and material improvements.

- Conduct cost analysis for new product launches.

- Perform regular comparisons of standard vs. actual costs.

- Collaborate with a motivated and engaged team to drive success.

- Qualifications:

- CMA certification with a solid understanding of costing principles, techniques, and methods.

- 2-6 years of experience in costing and inventory accounting, preferably in the manufacturing sector.

- Practical experience in product costing, cost audits, budgeting, and CVP analysis.

- Knowledge of US GAAP is preferred.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards).

- Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.- Key Competencies:
