Position Summary:
- The Finance Controller will provide strategic and functional leadership to drive financial efficiency, compliance, and sustainability. This role will oversee financial planning, budgeting, reporting, taxation, risk management, and internal controls, ensuring seamless operations and compliance with financial regulations.
- The ideal candidate will play a key role in business expansion, optimising resource allocation, and strengthening financial strategies for long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Business Planning:
- Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Lead the annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and long-term business planning to ensure sustainability and growth.
- Track product margins, sales performance, and revenue recovery with impact-based financial analysis.
- Strengthen the finance team's capabilities through mentorship and leadership development.
2. Financial Management & Reporting:
- Monitor key financial metrics such as revenue, margins, costs, assets, liabilities, and working capital trends.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing, manage accounts receivables, and maintain strong cash flow management.
- Establish financial controls and streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Lead internal and statutory audits, ensuring compliance with financial policies and corporate governance.
3. Taxation & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax laws, including Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, GST, and Income Tax.
- Supervise statutory and regulatory filings under Companies Act, FCRA, ESI, PF, and other relevant laws.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors to ensure smooth compliance and risk mitigation.
4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management:
- Maintain a cash flow management system to ensure business needs are met efficiently.
- Oversee investment decisions, debt management, and working capital optimization.
- Implement expense control mechanisms to enhance profitability.
5. Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Lead annual budget planning and periodic revisions, ensuring resource optimization.
- Track operational costs and take corrective actions to align with business objectives.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and implement cost-control initiatives.
6. Internal Controls & Risk Management:
- Develop and maintain robust internal control mechanisms to mitigate financial risks.
- Ensure compliance with anti-fraud and anti-bribery policies.
- Keep financial systems updated in line with regulatory changes and business restructuring.
7. Inventory & Asset Management:
- Maintain accurate records of assets and inventory, ensuring proper stock reconciliation.
- Oversee annual stock verification and audits for better accountability.
- Optimize supply chain finance and distribution-related financial operations.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in finance leadership, preferably in a commercial or social business environment.
- Proven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, taxation, and cost management.
- Experience in inventory management and financial forecasting
- Strong leadership in managing finance teams across multi-location operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Tally, ERP systems, and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead financial audits, manage regulatory compliance, and mitigate financial risks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant Qualified.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, taxation, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP, etc.).
