Engineer I - Ground Control Systems

Seeking an experienced Senior Engineer specialized in Ground Control Systems to join our aerospace engineering team. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and maintenance of ground control systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other aerospace platforms. This role requires expertise in software development, systems engineering, and mission-critical operations within the aerospace domain.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design and development of ground control systems for aerospace platforms, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.

2. Define system requirements and architecture for ground control stations, including user interfaces, telemetry data processing, command and control interfaces, and mission planning tools.

3. Design and implement software applications and algorithms for real-time data processing, telemetry visualization, and mission planning, utilizing industry-standard programming languages and frameworks.

4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and system integrators, to integrate ground control systems with onboard avionics and communication systems.

5. Develop and maintain communication protocols for bidirectional data exchange between ground control stations and airborne platforms, ensuring data integrity, security, and latency requirements are met.

6. Lead testing and validation efforts for ground control systems, including simulation-based testing, integration testing, and field testing with operational hardware and software.

7. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

8. Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, and project planning sessions to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure successful project execution.

9. Stay updated with the latest advancements in ground control technologies, aerospace industry trends, and regulatory requirements, driving technological innovation and competitive differentiation.

10. Contribute to proposal development, project planning, and budgeting activities for ground control system projects, including cost estimation, resource allocation, and risk management.
