POSITION: SENIOR STRESS ENGINEER
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Qualification: B.E / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: 5 to 10 years in Industry experience (Fertilizer/Petrochemical/oil and gas plants).
Software Proficiency: Proficient in Caesar II software for modeling and stress analysis.
Responsibilities:
1. Utilize expertise in Caesar II software for piping stress analysis and modeling.
2. Perform stress engineering of piping systems according to ASME, ANSI B31.1, B31.3 codes using Caesar II.
3. Conduct evaluations of stress, displacement, forces, and moments on restraints for support design.
4. Evaluate piping loads within allowable nozzle loads and select appropriate springs for necessary support.
5. Prepare data sheets for Expansion joints, spring hanger, and update Pipe support standards.
6. Conduct pipe thickness calculation, RF pad calculation, Forces and Moments calculation, Flange leakage calculations, etc.
7. Understand the behavior of piping systems and recommend optimized designs.
8. Interact regularly with various engineering disciplines and departments for project coordination.
9. Develop detailed requisitions for pipe stress equipment and materials.
10. Review vendor drawings and provide observations and feedback.
11. Collaborate with other engineers to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
12. Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders regarding stress engineering activities.
13. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and draftsmen in stress analysis and modeling.
14. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to quality standards in all stress engineering deliverables.
15. Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and best practices related to piping stress analysis.
Additional Skills:
1. Knowledge of 3D model review tools such as SPR, Navisworks, and AutoCAD (added advantage).
2. Strong understanding of ASME, ANSI B31.1, B31.3 codes and standards for piping design.
3. Experience in preparing data sheets, calculations, and documentation related to stress engineering.
4. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and communicate effectively.
5. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Familiarity with pipe support design, nozzle loads, and piping system optimization.
7. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Familiarity with Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety (QEHS) standards and regulations is a plus.
