We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Manager for Pricing in Import Export to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in negotiating rates with carriers and agents, managing pricing for FCL/LCL, SEA, and AIR shipments, and ensuring efficient booking processes with shipping lines and NVOCCs. This role is pivotal in ensuring competitive and accurate pricing to meet client and market demands.
Role Responsibilities: Negotiate and coordinate spot rates and/or quotations for LCL, FCL, air shipments, and all services within our client s database Lead the negotiation of rates and contracts with air carriers. Coordinate with various shipping lines to obtain and negotiate rates. Specialized working in AIR Ocean Import/exports Pricing Present competitive rates to clients and overseas agents. Align client target rates with market conditions and attempt to match them. Respond to queries from the marketing team and overseas agents promptly. Contact and communicate with shipping lines and their marketing personnel to request rates. Compare rates from various shipping lines and provide the best possible quotes. Fulfil client-specific shipping line rate requests to meet their requirements. Handle multiple-rate inquiries and ensure all queries are quoted on the same day; special container types (eg, OT, Refer, Haz) may require next-day quotations.
Requirements: Proven experience in pricing and rate negotiation in the import/export industry. Strong understanding of FCL/LCL, SEA, and AIR shipment processes. Excellent negotiation skills with carriers, NVOCCs, and IATA agents. Ability to manage rate filings and maintain inventories with shipping lines. Proficient in coordinating and communicating with various stakeholders, including clients, shipping lines, and internal teams. Strong analytical skills to compare and determine the best rates. Ability to handle high-volume rate inquiries efficiently and effectively. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery of quotations.
Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of 6 months-1 year of experience in pricing, rate negotiation, or a similar role in the import/export industry. Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
