Data Loss Prevention Engineer

Job Title: Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineer

• Install, configure, and maintain DLP technologies, including endpoint, network, and email DLP solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify sensitive data, then design and implement DLP policies and rules to prevent data loss and unauthorized access.
• Investigate and respond to DLP alerts and incidents, working to understand root causes and prevent future occurrences.
• Develop and manage dashboards and reports on DLP activity; provide actionable insights to the security team and executive management.
• Regularly review and adjust DLP policies to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational risk management goals.
• Work closely with network, endpoint, and cloud security teams to integrate DLP solutions with existing infrastructure and to ensure comprehensive data protection.
• Assist in educating employees on data handling best practices and DLP policy compliance.
• Maintain clear documentation on DLP policies, processes, and system configurations.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience with DLP technologies (e.g., Symantec, Forcepoint, Microsoft DLP, Digital Guardian).
• Strong knowledge of DLP solutions and technologies across on-premises, endpoint, and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with security tools such as SIEMs, CASBs, and endpoint security software.
• understanding of data classification frameworks, encryption techniques, and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Availability to work on-call and non-standard hours when necessary.
• Experience with enterprise networks, routing, and switching LAN, WAN, and VPN including IPsec/SSL
• Good knowledge of transport (TCP/UDP) and application layer (HTTP, FTP, etc.) protocols
• Experience with enterprise operating systems (Linux, Windows), Mail and Web application
• Hands-on experience with NGFW, and network security products including multiple vendors like Forcepoint, Fortinet, PaloAlto and Cisco
• knowledge of AV and EDR SSL gateways and proxy products
• Better to Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to support DLP automation is a plus.
