Minimum Qualification
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum Work Experience
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in automotive R&D, with a focus on electric vehicles.
Primary Duties
Lead and manage the R&D team focused on the development of electric 3-wheeler autorickshaws.
Develop and implement R&D strategies that align with company objectives and market needs.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
Guide and mentor a team of engineers through the vehicle development stages.
Provide technical direction and support to ensure successful project completion.
Encourage professional growth and skill development among team members.
Oversee all stages of the R&D process, from initial concept through design, prototyping,  testing, and production.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and performance  standards.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and marketing.
Secondary Duties
Guide the team through the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) and ICAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology) certification processes.
Ensure all vehicle designs meet the necessary regulatory and safety standards.
Complete the certification process for the developed vehicles.
Identify opportunities for innovation and drive the development of new features and capabilities.
Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in electric vehicle technology.
Continuously seek ways to improve existing products and processes.
Skills Required Proven experience in leading and managing R&D teams and projects.
Strong understanding of electric powertrain systems, vehicle dynamics, and advanced materials.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and simulation tools.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver innovative solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Experience with the ARAI and ICAT certification processes.
