HumanX is seeking a highly experienced Head of Plant (Automobile-Passenger Vehicle) for one of its clients. The plant head will lead and oversee the entire production process of passenger vehicles for a prestigious Japanese vehicle brand. This role involves driving operational excellence, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and optimizing resource utilization. You will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of manufacturing strategies to meet production goals and align with the company's vision of delivering world-class vehicles to the market.

Role & responsibilities:

Strategic Management

• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to achieve the organization's production goals, efficiency targets, and cost benchmarks.
• Provide strategic direction for factory operations, aligning with corporate objectives and the Japanese brands' global standards.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on business planning, budgeting, and operational forecasting.
• Stay updated with advancements in automotive manufacturing and implement best practices to maintain competitiveness.
• Prepare and manage the factory's annual budget, ensuring cost efficiency across all operations

Production Management

• Oversee the end-to-end production process, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality vehicles.
• Monitor and optimize production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow to maximize efficiency.
• Drive implementation of advanced manufacturing techniques, including robotics, automation, and lean principles, to enhance productivity and quality.
• Ensure adherence to production timelines and minimize downtime through effective planning and coordination.

Quality Assurance and Control

• Establish and enforce robust quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with the Japanese brands stringent quality standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and meet customer expectations.

Maintenance and Facility Management

• Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of machinery and equipment.
• Lead initiatives for plant modernization, including equipment upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
• Ensure all facilities meet environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.

People Management

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of managers, engineers, and shop-floor staff to foster a culture of collaboration and high performance.
• Identify skill gaps and oversee training and development programs to upskill the workforce.
• Promote a safe and inclusive working environment, prioritizing employee well-being and engagement.

Supply Chain and Inventory Management

• Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure a consistent supply of raw materials and components.
• Monitor inventory levels, implement efficient stock management practices, and minimize production disruptions.
• Foster strong relationships with local and international suppliers to maintain a smooth supply chain.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale production facilities, preferably for Japanese or international automobile brands.

Education Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.
• A Masters degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
