Job Description

This role is for our client which is a leading MNC based out of Bangalore.

Position Overview:

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a strategic scale-up within a global tech ecosystem, working with industry leaders, including giants like Microsoft. As Senior Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the travel and expense product for our client, creating a seamless and innovative experience for corporate travelers. Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Management & Engagement:

- Oversee software developers and Scrum Masters across 4-5 scrum teams (15-20 engineers) to ensure successful project delivery on time and in scope.

- Define team goals, translate them into individual objectives, and provide ongoing performance feedback.

- Develop team members through continuous assessment, coaching, and mentorship.

- Communicate team vision and roadmap aligned with the companys objectives.

- Report on team performance and project updates.

2. Technical Excellence:

- Clarify requirements and evaluate technical solutions for requests and change orders.

- Develop solutions for performance, scalability, and security requirements, ensuring efficient resource allocation.

- Build accurate estimates and size projects, considering development, testing, deployment, and third-party integration.

- Engage with architects on long-term component vision and code architecture, ensuring team alignment.

- Promote quality assurance and service stability efforts within the development lifecycle.

3. Problem Solving & Innovation:

- Proactively identify and resolve recurring issues with long-term solutions.

- Facilitate innovation sessions within the team to foster continuous improvement in product stability, reliability, and functionality.

- Support customers as needed and participate in customer-facing meetings or demo preparations.

4. People Leadership:

- Mentor team members, particularly technical staff, and coordinate with Senior Architects on tech initiatives.

- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages autonomy, creativity, and empowerment across teams.

- Work in a global, distributed setting with multiple geographic locations and cultures.

5. Thought Leadership:

- Share best practices on design principles and contribute to technical discussions.

- Actively contribute to global initiatives within the company and explore emerging technologies through PoCs.

- Drive adoption of new tech and practices as necessary to meet complex architectural requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: BE/BTech in Computer Science or related field.

Experience:

- Minimum 15 years in software product engineering with 5+ years managing development teams.

- Proven experience with Agile, especially SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), in a globally distributed environment.

- Expertise in DevOps, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), Microsoft Azure cloud, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.

- Strong technical skills in Java, J2EE, Spring, Microservices, Kafka, and cloud-native architectures. Knowledge of frontend frameworks (Angular, React) is advantageous.

- Experience handling non-functional requirements such as application performance and security.

- Knowledge of the travel or hospitality industry is a plus.
