Role Overview:
- The key role of the Area Sales Manager is to establish and manage the business development and sales activities.
- The main goal is to achieve short- and long-term business and financial objectives, and to increase sales and marketing share while maintaining the margin expectations of the region.
- The Area Sales Manager will develop and execute the business plan and Marketing Plans and subsequently work on the execution of such agreed plans to align and maximize the respective marketing and sales efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Area Sales Manager is responsible for meeting business targets that are set during the development of the business and marketing plans.
- Proactively initiate and engage sales calls to new prospects with sales team.
- Work closely with Corporate Marketing to design and execute pre-agreed stratergies built around developing new business growth.
- Interface with existing startegic customers to solidify mutual expectations of performance growth.
- Identify and attend conferences and other business functions to keep abreast of developments in the marketplace, to find potential new business, and to promote company's end to end solutions.
- KOL Development- Working closely with Key Opinion leaders to build the image of company.
Startergy Planning/ Market Development:
- Prepare action / stratergy plans and schedules to meet target
- Prepare presentations, proposals, quotations, and sales contracts
- Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge
- Regular and Irregular Reporting- Self & Team
- Prepare different kind of status reports, including activites, closings, follow-up, etc.
- Communicate new product opprtunities, special developments, information or feedback gathered through field activities to RSM / Sales head / Marketing head
Expense Control:
- Control expenses to meet budget guidelines with close supervision of immediate supervisor and accordingly guide the team below.
Budget Planning:
- Sales budget and expense budget planning for annual, quarter, monthly with close supervision of immediate senior.
Others:
- Follow-up for collections of payments & ensure collections within defined credit periods with team.
- Coordinate shipping schedule and delivery of products
Other duties as assigned:
Requirements:
Experience :
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in the sales function in the field of ophthalmology in the assigned area, Comprehensive knowledge in business practice in IOL, good organization and administrative skills, excellent attention to details, high degree of professionalism and integrity is essential, ability to demonstrate initiative and leadership, ability to persuade and influence others.
Skills/Accreditations : Excellent skills on MS Word, Excel, Power point etc
