Financial Analyst

Summary/Objective:

As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making within the organization. Your responsibilities will include evaluating financial performance, conducting market research, and collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information processes at House of Spices.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for supporting critical activities related to monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepares and records balance sheet and profit and loss entries in compliance with GAAP.
• Responsible for relevant Trial Balance and account level variance analysis or reporting.
• Prepares bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Free Cash Flow: Supports AR efficiency and DSO metrics; Identifies aging accounts or balances.
• Continuous reconciliation of intercompany account transactions and balances; Identifies and resolves any variances.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies for assigned duties.
• Assist the management with any data analysis request.
• Develop strong business acumen, connecting business problems and opportunities to data
• Develop high quality repeatable processes and deliverables to utilize discovered insights
• Create, maintain and present analytical reports

Work Environment

This job operates in various environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Ability to travel up to 5%, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum 3 years of Accounting/Finance Experience
• Excellent understanding of US GAAP and general accounting methodology
• Experience in advanced Excel, Power point. Knowledge in Python, Power BI and SQL preferable
• Self-starter with the experience to work independently on projects with little oversight from start to finish
• Desire to learn new technologies and how to apply them to fit the business needs.
• Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Ability to prioritize, organize, effectively manage time and work independently with little direction and oversight to meet deadlines
• Advanced spreadsheet and modeling experience with good working knowledge of databases
• Must be thorough, thoughtful and able to perform well under pressure
• High degree of professionalism and tact in dealing with internal and external business partners
• Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills
