About the Company :

HostBooks Limited is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional for the role of Legal, Secretarial, and Compliance Officer at our Gurugram head office.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing legal, secretarial, and compliance-related tasks across domestic and global operations.

Strong proficiency in SQL, experience with both MySQL and PostgreSQL database management systems, database design principles, ability to optimize queries, develop stored procedures, collaborate with development teams, and perform database maintenance tasks, while also understanding the specific features and nuances of each database platform to choose the best solution for the project.

Key Responsibilities :

Database Design and Development :

- Design and implement database schema for new applications using MySQL and PostgreSQL, considering data normalization and relationships.

- Create complex SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and update data efficiently.

- Develop stored procedures and functions to encapsulate complex business logic within the database.

Performance Optimization :

- Analyze query performance and identify bottlenecks, optimizing database queries for speed and scalability.

- Implement indexing strategies and database partitioning to improve data access.

Database Administration :

- Manage database backups, replication, and disaster recovery processes.

- Monitor database health, performance metrics, and troubleshoot issues.

- Implement database security measures to protect sensitive data.

Collaboration :

- Work closely with software developers to understand application requirements and translate them into database design.

- Collaborate with data analysts to extract and analyze data for business insights.

Required Skills :

- Proficient in SQL : Deep understanding of SQL syntax, including joins, subqueries, aggregation functions, and window functions.

- MySQL Expertise : Familiarity with MySQL features like replication, partitioning, and optimization techniques.

- PostgreSQL Expertise : Knowledge of PostgreSQL features like JSON support, advanced data types, and its object-relational capabilities.

- Database Design Principles : Thorough understanding of database normalization, data modeling, and best practices for designing efficient databases.

- Programming Languages : Familiarity with at least one programming language (i.e., Python, Java, PHP) to interact with the database.

Desired Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

- 4+ years of experience as a database developer working with both MySQL and PostgreSQL.

- Experience with database monitoring tools.

- Experience with NoSQL databases.

- Understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts, migration (depending on the role).
