SAP BW and BW/4HANA Consultant

Primary Responsibilities:

• Review and/or extract requirements from business users. Identify business process gaps in the system through formal and informal communications
• Be comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and able to think big while paying careful attention to detail. The candidate will know and love working with business intelligence tools, can model multidimensional datasets, and can partner with customers to answer key business questions.
• Drive data democratization throughout the organization, enabling others to self-serve their data needs
• Document solutions in the form of a Functional Design Document (FDD) including a technical specification, data lineage documentation, and gain agreement and sign-off from all business sponsors
• Perform configuration changes for SAP BW, BODS and HANA systems on-premise and cloud
• Lead SAP BW AWS Cloud Migration resource needed to manage cloud specific activities (BW to AWS)
• Plan, coordinate, and communicate the deployment of changes to the production system. Possess complete knowledge of the Change Control System and TEIS Methodology
• Work with the project managers on resource planning and provide a sound recommendation on resource ramp up and ramp down based on the project need
• Serve as a Project Leader when required, providing coordination of resources; developing project plans, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of work performed by the project team
• Explore new capabilities available in the market and make recommendations that are relevant for TE
• Provide consulting to the support team when needed

Competencies & Experience Required/Desired:

• 3+ years of SAP BW and 5 years of HANA, BW4/HANA and AWS hands-on work experience
• Good experience with BW/HANA Modeling concepts, scripting, optimization scenarios including hybrid scenarios, and performance tuning using HANA Studio and Wed IDE
• Experience in supporting large data warehouse System using LSA++ Architecture to extract data from multiple sources like SAP, Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop and Cloud services
• Functional knowledge around SAP Sales, Procurement, Finance, Quality, and Inventory modules
• BW Modelling Skills for building BW DSOs (Standard and Advanced DSOs) , ETL Loads, Process Chain, Performance Tuning
• HANA Modelling Build HANA Model, Function Modules, Scripts
• ABAP Skills Hands on ABAP Skills for BW Transformation, BW Function Modules etc
• Experience with Batch job monitoring and defining best practices
• Ability to collaborate with management, users, contract resources, vendors, and other IT teams
• Strong problem-solving capabilities. Results oriented. Relies on fact-based logic for decision-making.
• Ability to work with multiple projects and work streams at one time. Must be able to deliver results based upon project deadlines.
• Willing to flex daily work schedule to allow for time-zone differences for global team communications
• Ability to travel both within and outside of the country for specific projects, as needed
• Prior working experience with Oracle, Data Warehouse and Bigdata processes & technology is a plus
• Exposure/experience on S/4HANA is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Educational Required/Desired:

• Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science OR equivalent work experience in an IT organization
