Procurement Buyer

Buyer Job Description:

This position will be part of IA Procurement team. The position will be based in Pune, India. The role will be responsible for Procurement of direct spend for Process Measurement & Controls Line of Business, including timely placement of purchase orders and change orders . In this position, you will support & manage the overall efficient operation of the purchasing team, developing relationships with suppliers, ensuring the material according to production plan at the best price and on time. Crucial to the role is communication with suppliers & internal stakeholder , actively seeking opportunities to streamline and strengthen these crucial contacts. The position will need knowledge of Procurement of Mechanical, Electrical, Software s & off-the shelf components from both local as well overseas suppliers. Knowledge of Import & export regulations etc. will be added advantage. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities in the supply chain. Manage the vendor base optimally. Lead digitization of Procurement procedures using available technologies, e.g. e- Auction, Auto PO, OTTRD reports etc.

Job Responsibility

- Respond to MRP messages to procure material in order to support production requirements. Responsible for maintenance of purchase orders, monthly forecasting for suppliers, maintenance of key planning parameters, and reconciliation of invoice and purchase order issues.

- Procure a variety of parts and services including but not limited to mechanical, electrical and electronic hardware, subassemblies, tooling and proto types

- Obtain the best value for materials. Best value is defined as a combination of: price, delivery, quality and service. Considers total cost of acquisition when making procurement decisions.

- Manage supplier performance to ensure site is working with the right strategic suppliers to support short and long term objectives. Take assertive position with suppliers who are past due to ensure that every alternative is explored in able to improve past due delivery schedules.

- Support timely placement of purchase orders and change orders. Highlights Supply risks, Constraints & ensures early supplier involvement (ESI) to mitigate those risks JIT.

- Drive cost cut opportunities & LT reduction program as per PFEP (plan for each part) with key suppliers.

- Mitigate supply risks with early supplier involvement (ESI) with key & critical suppliers to achieve the customer OTTR & LT target.

- Report Supply status & escalations regularly to the ISC Team, Sourcing manager, & Internal customers, VSM s to ensure information for business updates is available as required.

- Consult with site CM s & GCM s for lower cost and suggests cost cut opportunities. Also ensures minimum E & O Liabilities from Suppliers.

- Resolve supplier quality and delivery issues.

- Lead & support projects related to supplier optimization, lead time reduction , working capital improvement & supplier capacity management.

- Support procurement activities for NPI & New Line Transition projects as per need of organization.

- Execute SAP Part Creation/Part extension requests/Vendor Creation/Vendor Extension requests as per requirement of the Project.

- Implement PFEP and Inventory reduction projects. Drive improvement projects related to supplier lead times , payment terms and on time delivery.

- Procure material according to ordering policies designed to minimize inventory costs and being left with inactive, obsolete and surplus inventory. Identify and manage measures to reduce inactive, obsolete and surplus inventory when such do exist

- Conduct weekly supply review meetings with key suppliers to drive on time delivery, lead time & mitigate supply risk if any. Participate in SIOP review meetings to highlight supply constraints if any.

- Manage P2P cycle with 0 Buyer s queue & ensuring timely supplier payments.

Visit suppliers as necessary and appropriate within scope of job responsibilities

You Must Have:

Work Experience: 7 to 11 years in Procurement Operations

Should have Bachelors Degree

Should have knowledge in SAP MM

Should have knowledge in Procurement Operations

Should have knowledge in P2P process

Good Communication skills

Problem Solving Attitude
