We are looking for a skilled and passionate Video Editor Instructor to teach our students the art and technique of video editing. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of various video editing software, creativity in storytelling, and experience in both professional video production and teaching. The Video Editor Instructor will be responsible for creating and delivering instructional content, providing hands-on guidance, and helping students develop the technical and creative skills needed to succeed in the video editing Key Responsibilities:
● Curriculum Development: Design and develop a comprehensive video editing curriculum that covers industry-standard tools, techniques, and best practices.
● Instruction: Teach and facilitate engaging video editing lessons to students, both in-class and online, ensuring that content is understandable and accessible for all learning levels.
● Hands-on Training: Provide practical, real-world editing exercises and projects to help students apply theory to practice.
● Software Proficiency: Teach students how to use professional editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe after effects, DaVinci Resolve, and others as applicable.
● Feedback and Evaluation: Review and provide constructive feedback on student projects, assignments, and progress.
● Student Support: Offer guidance to students, helping them overcome technical challenges, enhancing their editing skills, and nurturing their creative abilities.
● Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in video editing to ensure the curriculum remains relevant.
● Assessments: Administer quizzes, assignments, and projects that evaluate students understanding and technical abilities in video editing.
● Collaboration: Work closely with other instructors and department staff to create an inclusive and productive learning environment.
● Encourage Creativity: Inspire students to think creatively and push their limits, helping them develop a unique style and vision in their video editing. Qualifications and Skills:
● Experience: Proven experience in teaching video editing with a strong portfolio of work (commercials, films, web content, etc.).
● Technical Expertise: Proficiency in professional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe after effects, DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, and other relevant tools.
● Teaching Experience: Previous experience in teaching or mentoring, especially in video editing or related fields, is preferred.
● Creativity: Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, color correction, sound design, and other key aspects of video production.
● Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively to students with varying levels of experience.
● Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects with precision and focus.
● Adaptability: Willingness to continuously update teaching methods based on new tools, trends, and feedback. Preferred Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Multimedia Arts, or related field.
● Experience with motion graphics and animation (After Effects, Cinema 4D).
● Familiarity with video distribution platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, and social media.
● Certification or experience with industry-standard video production techniques.
