Objective:
- The Senior Finance Manager will oversee financial planning, analysis, reporting, and operational management of the finance department.
- They will work closely with senior leadership to develop financial strategies that support business objectives, optimize financial performance, and ensure long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Develop and maintain financial models to guide strategic decision-making, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for business improvements.
- Prepare and deliver regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and financial performance.
- Analyze financial performance against targets, highlighting variances and providing actionable insights to improve business outcomes.
- Partner with business leaders to support and guide budgeting, financial reporting, and performance management.
Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial performance, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Work with auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and internal control standards.
- Develop and implement improved financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Oversee cash management, liquidity planning, and cash forecasting to ensure the organization's financial health.
- Optimize cash flow management, working capital, and credit management processes to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and strategic investments.
- Collaborate with senior management to evaluate funding strategies and capital structure options.
Cost Management & Profitability Analysis:
- Analyze cost structures and identify areas of improvement in cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Manage profit and loss, ensuring effective cost management and profitability of business operations.
- Support various departments with cost tracking and identifying opportunities for cost-saving initiatives without sacrificing quality or operational efficiency.
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Act as a key financial advisor to the leadership team by providing insights into financial performance and guiding strategic decisions.
- Work with leadership to evaluate and support business investments, capital expenditures, and long-term financial goals.
- Develop financial strategies and models to support business growth initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, or other strategic investments.
- Provide strategic input on key business decisions, ensuring they align with the company's financial goals.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Oversee compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and accounting standards.
- Ensure financial statements are compliant with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Identify potential financial risks and recommend strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a high-performance team environment by providing coaching, feedback, and opportunities for professional development.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their financial needs and provide solutions that support business objectives.
Business Partnering:
- Act as a key business partner to various departments (sales, operations, HR) to support decision-making with financial insights and analysis.
- Provide financial training and support to non-financial managers to improve their financial literacy and ability to drive profitability within their departments.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to assess the financial implications of strategic initiatives and business operations.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in finance, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or senior finance role.
- Proven track record of financial planning, reporting, and analysis, with a strong understanding of financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
- Experience in managing financial operations, including cash flow management, cost control, and budget management.
- Experience in implementing financial systems and improving financial processes.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Strong experience in leading audits and collaborating with external auditors.
