Senior Quality Assurance Engineer II - Database Testing (7-14 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our growing team in Bangalore.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our education technology solutions.

As a key member of our agile teams, you will be responsible for all aspects of testing, from requirements analysis and test planning to execution and reporting.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze user stories, requirements documents, and design specifications to identify testable scenarios and create comprehensive test plans.

- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and designers to ensure testability of features and functionalities.

- Execute manual and automated tests across UI, API, database, and mobile (iPad) features.

- Utilize and maintain automated testing frameworks such as Selenium or Playwright.

- Document and track test results, defects, and progress in a clear and concise manner.

- Generate comprehensive test reports and communicate test results effectively to stakeholders.

- Develop and maintain automated test suites for regression testing, functional testing, and performance testing.

- Continuously improve and optimize automated test scripts for efficiency and maintainability.

- Address critical incidents, coordinate with development teams to ensure timely resolutions, and monitor adherence to quality standards.

- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG) throughout the product development lifecycle.

- Guide junior team members in testing methodologies and best practices.

- Actively participate in agile ceremonies (e.g, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).

- Represent QA in planning and decision-making processes within the agile team.

Technical Skills :

- Strong proficiency in SQL and database testing, including complex SQL queries and joins.

- Expertise in creating comprehensive test cases for various testing levels (unit, integration, system, regression).

- In-depth experience in manual testing across different interfaces (UI, API).

- Proven experience with test automation frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, or similar.

- Intermediate experience in mobile testing, specifically on iPad devices.

- Working knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and associated testing tools.

Qualifications :

- 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance or a similar role.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of an agile team.
