Job Title : Power BI Developer

Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying data models, reports, and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. You will work closely with business analysts and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain interactive Power BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards to provide business insights.

- Use DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create custom calculations, aggregations, and KPIs for effective data visualization.

- Establish and maintain live data connections to various data sources, including SQL databases, APIs, and other data repositories.

- Write complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of reports.

- Collaborate with business users to understand reporting requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

- Optimize and troubleshoot Power BI reports and dashboards for performance and usability.

- Work with large datasets, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accuracy.

- Create and maintain documentation for Power BI solutions and ensure adherence to data governance best practices.

- Provide training and support to business users on Power BI best practices and tools.

- Stay updated on the latest Power BI features and Microsoft SQL Server updates, incorporating them into ongoing development efforts.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Proficient in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

- Strong expertise in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating custom measures, calculated columns, and complex business logic.

- Experience with SQL Server (T-SQL) and the ability to write advanced SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.

- Knowledge of Power BI Data Modeling, including relationship management, star/snowflake schema design, and optimizing data models.

- Ability to connect Power BI to various data sources, including SQL Server, Oracle, Excel, SharePoint, and web-based APIs.

- Hands-on experience in working with live data connections and DirectQuery mode in Power BI.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle large datasets and performance optimization.

- Knowledge of Power Query for data transformation and ETL processes.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or similar.

- Knowledge of Power BI Gateway for scheduled data refreshes.

- Familiarity with cloud-based Power BI features and integration with Azure services.

- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.

Education and Experience :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field.

- 4+ years of experience in Power BI development and reporting.

- 4+ years of experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
