Position : Design Engineer-Transmission

Function : Hero Motors Ltd

Reports to : Senior Manager

Location : Noida/Ghaziabad

Specifications::

Experience (in years):2 to 5 yrs

Industry Preferred: Automotive

Qualifications: B. Tech. (Mechanical)

Roles & responsibilities::

1.Participate in the design of new transmission architectures that can support Hero future growth plans through received consultancy design projects

2.Provide support to the validation team using CAD design input to create and optimise new

transmission & drive line designs

3.Responsible to develop CAD for identified transmission system, sub-system or component design as per requirements of the business, ensuring system, subsystem / component designs meet target objectives for design attributes.

4.Perform design calculations (shaft strength/bearing/Synchronizer / Gears)

5.Use of analytical softwares (like CAE advance simulation) to support design decisions

6.Support/Lead DFMEA activities

7.3D & 2D drawing delivery for given milestones

8.Drawing generation and checking.

9.Tolerance stack calculations and engineering calculations to back up designs where appropriate.

10.Collaboration with Production Engineering to support design changes based on manufacturing feedback and/or test feedback.

11.Lead technical discussions with suppliers to support design maturation as required.

12.Design for manufacturing and low cost wherever possible

13.Design problem resolution support, through CAD, Presentations, Calculations etc.

14.Take ownership/leadership of new transmission design programs of work as identified and agreed within the team

15.Provide research & investigative support for the Technology Roadmap

Functional competencies::

• Minimum 2 - 5 years of transmission design engineering experience.
• Strong communication, information transfer and inter-personal skills with practical, pro-active hands on approach.
• Advanced knowledge/skills in CAD (Creo Parametric) modelling & analysis and experience applying it within gear train detailed design.
• Capability & knowledge to design simple Hydraulic Systems is Desirable
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to present & discuss technical information in a clear and concise manner.
• Knowledge of transmission integration into vehicles.
• Commercially aware, understanding the impact of design decisions affecting production and customer delivery
• Know-how of Transmission design, development, validation and test processes.
• Experienced in the application of transmission specific analysis software kissoft & Creo advance simulation.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools.
