Position Overview
The Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the housekeeping department, including supervising housekeeping staff, implementing cleaning protocols, and maintaining inventory of supplies. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housekeepers, and laundry personnel.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of productivity and guest satisfaction.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork, communication, and professionalism among staff members.
2. Cleaning Operations
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, procedures, and standards to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance and front office, to address guest requests, maintenance issues, and room readiness.
3. Inventory and Supply Management
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Implement cost-saving measures and efficient use of resources to optimize housekeeping budget and expenses.
- Maintain records of inventory transactions, purchases, and supplier relationships to support inventory management and procurement processes.
4. Quality Assurance and Guest Satisfaction
- Implement quality assurance programs and conduct regular quality inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and comfort for guests.
- Respond promptly to guest feedback and complaints, addressing issues and taking corrective actions to resolve guest concerns.
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores and performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
5.Training and Development
- Provide training and development opportunities to housekeeping staff to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance.
- Conduct training sessions on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards to ensure staff competency and compliance.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging staff members to pursue professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in housekeeping management or supervisory role in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and housekeeping management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
