As the IT Procurement Lead, you will centralise hardware and software inventory management within our organisation. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to vendor management. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure IT procurement processes align with organisational goals and budgetary requirements.
- Centralize and maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory.
- Implement efficient tracking systems to monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to procure hardware and software products.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and vendor terms to secure favourable agreements.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Continuously evaluate market trends and identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities.
- Research and recommend new vendors or solutions to meet evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with IT Finance Manager and other stakeholders to obtain purchase budget approval.
- Streamline procurement processes to enhance efficiency and minimise lead times.
- Develop and implement best practices for procurement, inventory management, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Mitigate procurement risks by conducting thorough vendor assessments and due diligence.
- Work closely with IT Finance Manager, department heads, and other stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements and priorities.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to coordinate procurement activities and address issues or concerns.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in IT procurement, vendor management, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation skills with a record of achieving cost savings and favourable contract terms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with procurement software and inventory management systems.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management
- Experience working in a similar role within the IT industry.
- Knowledge of IT hardware and software products, licensing agreements, and industry trends.
