Consultant Microbiologist

Responsibilities

• Reviewing culture plates, slides and reports in Microbiology.

• Review of ELISA, Rapid card and automated serology parameters.

• Review of Molecular tests run and review of reports.

• Ensuring turnaround time of laboratory tests in Microbiology, Serology and Molecular Diagnostics departments.

• Making standard operating procedures for tests

• Conducting training sessions/ seminars for staff

• Query resolution on test reports and interaction with clinicians.

• Monitoring actual consumption of stocks versus the number of tests performed.

• To oversee equipment maintenance and the new instrument installation.

• Review effective and rational utilization of kits and equipment

• Review of all Quality Assurance processes in order to ensure quality reports

• Reviewing Validation data of kits/ antibiotics/ media/ equipment prior to utilization at the laboratory bench
