Role & responsibilities

• Design and implement the mathematics curriculum across all grades.
• Ensure the syllabus aligns with national standards and examination requirements.
• Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies.
• Lead and manage the mathematics teaching staff.
• Provide mentorship and professional development for teachers.
• Facilitate collaboration among teachers to share best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in the department.
• Analyze student performance data and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop strategies to enhance student outcomes in mathematics.
• Coordinate mathematics timetables and teacher allocations.
• Ensure adequate resources (e.g., textbooks, software, tools) are available for effective teaching.
• Formulate and implement policies related to assessments, grading, and teaching methodologies in mathematics.
• Organize and lead departmental meetings.
• Liaise with school leadership to align departmental goals with school objectives.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
• Identify and support students with learning difficulties in mathematics.
• Promote enrichment opportunities like math competitions, clubs, or projects.
• Oversee the preparation and grading of internal exams and assignments.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of student progress.
• Encourage the use of real-world applications to make math engaging and relatable.
• Introduce creative activities such as math puzzles, problem-solving sessions, and technology-based learning.
• Stay updated with advancements in mathematics education.
• Attend workshops and conferences to bring new ideas to the department.
• Organize Mathematics Week, Olympiads, quizzes, and inter-school competitions.
