PLSQL Software Engineer

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer with a strong background in database management, development, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have over 5 to 10 years of experience working with Oracle databases and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex PL/SQL code to support various applications and business processes.

• Database Development
• Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and scripts.
• Optimize and tune PL/SQL code for maximum performance and scalability.
• Develop complex queries and data manipulation scripts to support business requirements.
• Database Management
• Manage and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
• Perform database troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and optimization.
• Implement and maintain data models, database designs, and data dictionaries.
• System Integration
• Work closely with application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that the database meets business needs.
• Integrate PL/SQL solutions with other systems and platforms, including data warehouses, ETL tools, and reporting solutions.
• Project Management
• Lead and manage database-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers and team members.
• Document processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure the quality and maintainability of the database environment.
• Quality Assurance
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of PL/SQL code to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with QA teams to address defects and improve code quality.
• Support and Maintenance
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing PL/SQL applications and database environments.
• Address and resolve production issues in a timely manner, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and system failures.
