Veterinary Assistant Surgeon

Technical expertise

• Bachelors degree in veterinary science, from a reputed university. He/she/they should have a valid license from Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in carrying out Animal Birth Control (ABC) Programme for community animals.
• Assisting the Senior Veterinary Surgeon in carrying out spay/neuter surgeries on community dogs that will be brought to the facility as per the guidelines set forth in Animal Birth Rules, 2001 and Animal Welfare Board of India.

Roles and responsibilities

• Ensure best post-operative management for the dogs for complete recovery without major complications.
• Maintain records of surgeries and reporting to programme team.
• Regularly conduct team briefing meetings, drills with both the project and programme team.
• Assess and manage risks, measure, and report on progress, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, time management.
• Carrying out Mass Rabies Vaccination Programme under Mission rabies
• Overall management of the facility including human resources, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
