Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant construction experience.
Diploma in relevant Engineering Discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant construction experience.
Certifications:
Valid Level-2 Certificate in the relevant NDT methodologies (RT/UT) is mandatory.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Discipline Engineer Welding/NDT to manage and oversee welding and non-destructive testing (NDT) operations in construction projects. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with NDT methodologies such as Radiographic Testing (RT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and a strong understanding of construction quality standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Welding Operations Supervision:
oDevelop and implement welding procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
oMonitor and inspect welding processes and ensure high-quality workmanship.
oAddress and resolve any welding-related issues at the construction site.
2.Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):
oPerform and supervise NDT operations using RT and UT methodologies to assess material and weld integrity.
oInterpret NDT results and provide clear recommendations based on findings.
oMaintain compliance with NDT codes, standards, and project requirements.
3.Technical Compliance:
oEnsure that all NDT procedures and welding operations align with relevant IS Codes and industry standards.
oStay updated on the latest NDT technologies and welding advancements.
oCalibrate and maintain NDT equipment to ensure reliable testing results.
4.Coordination & Communication:
oLiaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to discuss technical requirements and quality concerns.
oAct as the point of contact for NDT and welding quality issues with external agencies and stakeholders.
oCollaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
5.Documentation & Reporting:
oPrepare detailed inspection and testing reports for welding and NDT activities.
oMaintain accurate records of NDT certifications, welding qualifications, and test results.
oSubmit quality assurance documentation as required for audits and project reviews.
6.Quality Assurance & Safety:
oImplement and enforce quality control measures for welding and NDT operations.
oPromote adherence to safety protocols during all testing and welding activities.
oConduct regular quality checks and address non-compliance issues.
Key Skills & Requirements:
Education:
oDegree (2+ years of experience) or Diploma (4+ years of experience) in a relevant engineering discipline.
Certifications:
oMandatory Valid Level-2 Certificate in relevant NDT methodologies (RT/UT).
Experience:
oRelevant experience in construction with expertise in welding and NDT operations.
Technical Knowledge:
oStrong understanding of NDT methods (RT/UT), IS Codes, and quality standards in construction.
oProficiency in interpreting NDT results and developing quality recommendations.
Software Skills:
oProficient in MS Office tools for reporting and documentation.
Soft Skills:
oStrong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with clients and teams.
oAnalytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
Strong understanding of NDT methods (RT/UT), IS Codes, and quality standards in construction.
