Planning - Solution Architect Team Member (Telecom, Transmission)

Job Overview:

The Planning - Solution Architect Team Member supports the design, planning, and implementation of telecom and transmission network solutions. This role focuses on delivering high-performance, scalable, and reliable network architectures, including DWDM, IP-MPLS, and other transmission technologies. The team member collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, optimal performance, and adherence to project timelines and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Telecom & Transmission Planning:

• Assist in the design and implementation of telecom solutions using DWDM, SDH, IP-MPLS, and Ethernet technologies.
• Conduct feasibility studies and network planning for capacity, scalability, and redundancy.
• Support the evaluation and integration of next-generation technologies (e.g., 400G, SDN).
• Contribute to the development of traffic engineering strategies to optimize network performance and QoS.

Network Optimization & Performance:

• Perform network analysis to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with the NOC team to monitor network performance and recommend improvements.
• Assist in designing and implementing redundancy, disaster recovery, and fault-tolerant solutions.

Technical Documentation & Compliance:

• Prepare detailed network diagrams, technical specifications, and planning documents.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational guidelines in network design.
• Document configurations, processes, and best practices for knowledge sharing and future reference.

Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
• Provide technical support during network upgrades, migrations, and integration activities.
• Assist in resolving issues during testing, deployment, and post-implementation phases.

Research & Development:

• Stay updated on emerging technologies in telecom and transmission networks.
• Provide insights into new tools, methodologies, and practices to enhance network planning and operations.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

• Strong understanding of telecom and transmission technologies: DWDM, IP-MPLS, SDH/OTN, and Ethernet.
• Experience with network planning tools and simulation software.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and analysis tools like SolarWinds, NetFlow, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS) and performance optimization.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Certifications: CCNP, JNCIP, MEF-CECP, or equivalents are an advantage.

Experience:

• 3-7 years of experience in telecom and transmission network planning.
• Exposure to large-scale telecom projects or ISP networks is desirable.
