Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Incident Management:

  • Overseeing the response to logistics disruptions or emergencies.
  • Coordinating resources and personnel to mitigate the impact on operations.
  • Ensuring the timely and efficient resolution of incidents, minimizing delays or damages.

2. Risk Assessment and Analysis:

  • Identifying potential risks that could lead to incidents.
  • Analyzing the root causes of incidents to prevent future occurrences.
  • Developing risk management strategies to handle potential disruptions in logistics.

3. Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serving as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders during an incident.
  • Keeping senior management, customers, suppliers, and other relevant parties informed of the situation.
  • Providing regular updates and post-incident reports.

4. Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensuring that all incidents are managed according to industry regulations and company policies.
  • Promoting safety protocols to avoid accidents or incidents in the workplace.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.

5. Data and Technology Utilization:

  • Using logistics management software, incident tracking tools, and analytics to monitor and address incidents in real time.
  • Implementing solutions that improve incident tracking and reporting.

6. Training and Preparedness:

  • Training teams on how to respond to incidents and emergencies.
  • Leading mock drills to test the preparedness of staff and the effectiveness of incident response plans.
  • Developing incident response plans that include detailed procedures for different types of disruptions.

7. Post-Incident Analysis and Improvement:

  • After an incident is resolved, leading the debriefing process to evaluate the effectiveness of the response.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and recommending changes to procedures to prevent future incidents.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Good understanding of logistics operations, supply chain management, and transportation systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams during an incident.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience with logistics management software and data analytics.
