Job Description
Job Summary: As a Manual Tester, you will be responsible for evaluating and testing software applications to identify and report defects, ensuring that they meet the specified requirements and quality standards. You will work closely with the development team to identify issues and collaborate on improving software quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Planning: Develop test plans and test cases based on project requirements, user stories, and design documents.
- Test Execution: Execute test cases manually to verify the functionality of software applications. This may include functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Defect Identification: Identify and report defects, issues, and inconsistencies in the software. Provide detailed bug reports, including steps to reproduce and expected results.
- Test Data Preparation: Create and maintain test data sets required for testing scenarios.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure clear communication of defects and testing status.
- Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that previously identified issues have been resolved and that new changes do not introduce new defects.
- Ad Hoc Testing: Conduct ad hoc testing to explore the application and discover any potential issues not covered by test cases.
- Test Environment Setup: Assist in setting up and configuring the test environment to replicate production conditions.
- Test Reporting: Generate test reports and provide feedback on the overall quality of the application.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in process improvement initiatives and suggest ways to enhance the testing process and product quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Manual Tester or QA Tester.
- Knowledge of software testing principles and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a thorough approach to testing.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with testing tools and test management systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum) is a plus.
