Graduate Engineer Trainee

Job Summary: As a Graduate Engineer Trainee in the construction industry, you will be given the opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge to real-world projects. You will assist in the planning, execution, and management of construction projects under the supervision of senior engineers and project managers. Key Responsibilities:

Assist with Project Planning and Design:

• Support the development and review of project plans, schedules, and designs.
• Help prepare cost estimates and manage project budgets.
• Assist with preparing technical drawings, blueprints, and site plans.

On-Site Support and Supervision:

• Visit construction sites regularly to observe work progress.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
• Assist in monitoring daily operations, work schedules, and resource allocation.
• Identify any discrepancies or issues on-site and report them to senior engineers.

Quality Control and Compliance:

• Assist in ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor materials used on-site and ensure quality control.
• Conduct inspections of ongoing work and assist in resolving issues related to construction quality.

Technical Assistance and Problem-Solving:

• Provide technical support for ongoing projects.
• Troubleshoot engineering problems and propose solutions under supervision.
• Conduct site surveys and report data for future planning.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:

• Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing contracts and other documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely project completion.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of daily activities and project progress.
• Prepare reports on project milestones, challenges, and achievements.
• Assist in compiling post-project documentation for analysis and review.

Continuous Learning and Development:

• Participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.
• Attend site meetings and safety training.
• Engage in mentoring opportunities to learn from senior team members

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction specifications.
