The Goodyear Tire and Rubber company seeks a motivated individual to meet growing business needs. You will work with a cross-functional and cross-continental group of software developers and engineers who create, enhance, and support applications that are key to the Goodyear Global Operations and Technology community.
The IT Section Leader provides leadership and direction to a Technical Team (Regional or Global) responsible for a functional area or technology. The leader delivers superior customer service and executes the departments objectives by executing projects and support activities.
This is a Technical Leader role with 50% of time spent on managerial activities and 50% as an IT Practitioner.
Primary Responsibilities
- You will perform hands-on technical operations and activities to meet department objectives and consumer needs.
- You will plan, coordinate, schedule assignments and projects with subordinates and participate in establishing project plans (strategic and tactical). Prioritize project plans based on business needs and availability of resources.
- You will monitor project development and communicate project progression frequently to upper management, staff and customers.
- You will perform managerial activities (IE: Hiring, Performance Management Processes, Associate Development, Department Staffing, Budgeting, Communicating and Enforcing of Policies and Procedures). Determine specific resources and skills required for ongoing activities and provide leadership to staff all projects within area of responsibility.
- You will work in CET time zone hours. Willingness to conduct changes outside of the business working hours.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business or in lieu of degree 11 years of IT experience
- A minimum 10 years of development experience with SmarTeam PLM is required
- 6 or more years of Technical experience in various IT disciplines gaining a conceptual knowledge of Information Technologies and methodologies. .
- Minimum 10 years of experience developing with C++, C#, & SQL.
- Experience with DevOps toolchains like Jira or equivalent.
- Experience with modern CI/CD toolchains such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
- Experience with code repositories such as SVN, GitHub, or equivalent.
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs or equivalent.
- Experience with CAD or CATIA V5 or equivalent.
Skills & Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of IT field and in-depth knowledge and technical expertise of one specialty area.
- Good presentation skills, meeting leadership and facilities skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have the necessary leadership, team building, motivation, and delegation skills to efficiently coordinate the efforts of a team toward accomplishing a common goal.
