Assistant Housekeeper

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Assistant Housekeeper to join our housekeeping team. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in the housekeeping or hospitality industry, with a deep understanding of cleaning standards, staff management, and maintaining high-quality service in a hotel, resort, or similar facility. The Assistant Housekeeper will support the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise Housekeeping Staff: Assist in the recruitment, training, and scheduling of housekeeping team members. Ensure staff adhere to company cleaning standards, policies, and safety protocols.
• Quality Control & Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met. Report any maintenance or repair issues promptly.
• Inventory Management: Monitor housekeeping supplies, equipment, and linen inventory. Place orders when necessary and ensure stock levels are maintained.
• Guest Satisfaction: Ensure guest rooms and public areas meet high cleanliness standards. Address guest complaints or special requests related to housekeeping services in a timely and professional manner.
• Operational Support: Assist the Housekeeping Manager with day-to-day operations and ensure smooth functioning of the department. Assist with managing housekeeping schedules and overseeing room assignments.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all housekeeping staff follow proper hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards. Promote a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and support to new and existing staff. Encourage teamwork, high performance, and personal development.
• Administrative Tasks: Maintain housekeeping records, including inventory logs, guest complaints, and maintenance requests. Assist with scheduling and payroll administration when needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years in housekeeping, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or assistant management role in the hospitality industry.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in hospitality or housekeeping management is a plus.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Proven experience in supervising and motivating a team of housekeeping staff.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to identify areas for improvement and ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are consistently met.
• Guest-Centric Attitude: Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests and address their needs or concerns.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet departmental goals and deadlines.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to coordinate with staff and management.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and moving heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in varying temperatures.
