Job Description:

1) Plan and estimate welding consumables for projects.

2) Conduct detailed study of the metallurgy and write procedures accordingly.

3) Prepare welding documents like Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), PQR, Heat Treatment procedure etc.

4) Improve the procedure for welding nozzles and attachments by automatic processes like using FCAW for overlay welding processes.

5) Execute welding processes like SAW, SMAW, GTAW, ESSC, FCAW, Tube-to-Tube Sheet welding etc.

6) Develop inhouse reliable seam tracking mechanism.

7) Develop data loggers and associated systems for collecting and storing data.

8) Standardise the process of welding from V groove to J groove welding.

9) Ensure defect analysis and plan for repairs.

10) Study the requirement of flux, consumption of flux, daily checking for storage of flux in second stores and use of flux on shop floor.

11) Monitor and generate the cases of deviation, analyze the deviation, and suggest corrective actions.

12) Ensure use of efficient recovery units on all welding stations.

13) Ensure reduction in waste by using trays and other collecting systems to avoid contamination and subsequent wastage.

14) Study drawing and ensure usage of correct codes for the project as per client specification

Qualifications Required: Degree / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy)
