OverView :

The TGT Social Studies Teacher will deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in alignment with the Cambridge curriculum. The role involves fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and a global perspective among students while promoting an understanding of history, geography, political science, and economics.

Responsibility :

Teaching and Lesson Planning:

1. Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons as per the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum standards for Social Studies.
2. Cover a range of topics, including history, geography, civics, economics, and global perspectives.
3. Develop detailed lesson plans, schemes of work, and innovative teaching materials.
4. Use varied teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities, ensuring inclusive education.
5. Employ inquiry-based learning, project work, and collaborative activities to deepen student engagement.

Student Assessment and Evaluation:

1. Design and administer formative and summative assessments as per Cambridge standards.
2. Maintain accurate records of student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
3. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on performance and progress.
4. Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE examinations by conducting practice sessions and revision classes.

Classroom Management:

1. Create a positive and disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning.
2. Encourage critical thinking, independent research, and group discussions.
3. Support students in developing skills like research, analysis, and problem-solving.

Curriculum Integration and Enrichment:

1. Integrate cross-curricular themes such as global citizenship, sustainable development, and cultural diversity into lessons.
2. Organize field trips, workshops, and activities to provide experiential learning opportunities.
3. Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary projects and school events.

Professional Development:

1. Stay updated with the latest Cambridge curriculum guidelines and teaching methodologies.
2. Attend workshops, training programs, and faculty development sessions.
3. Participate in peer observation and mentoring to enhance teaching practices.

School Events and Activities:

1. Actively contribute to school events, competitions, and celebrations involving Social Studies themes.
2. Guide students in participating in Model United Nations (MUN), debates, and essay-writing competitions.
3. Support the school in organizing exhibitions, cultural programs, and awareness campaigns.

Administrative Duties:

1. Maintain lesson plans, assessment records, and documentation as per school policies.
2. Prepare and submit progress reports, exam papers, and other administrative requirements in a timely manner.
3. Assist in parent-teacher meetings and share actionable insights on student development.

SkillsDescription :

Education:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or a related field.
• A B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification is mandatory.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably in Cambridge or international curricula.
• Familiarity with Cambridge IGCSE teaching and assessment standards is essential.

Skills:

1. Strong subject knowledge in Social Studies topics.
2. Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
3. Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for teaching and assessment.
4. Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans.
