About the Role:
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Canada Tax Professionals to join our growing team.
We are open to considering candidates at various levels, from Associate to Team Lead/Manager, depending on experience and qualifications.
As a Tax Professional, you will play a crucial role in assisting our clients with their Canadian tax needs, including T1, T2, and T3 tax returns, Caseware utilization, and the preparation and review of Notices of Assessment.
Key Responsibilities (Vary by Level):
All Levels:
- Tax Return Preparation: Prepare, review, and file T1, T2, and T3 tax returns accurately and efficiently, adhering to all relevant Canadian tax laws and regulations.
- Notice of Assessment: Prepare and review Notices of Assessment for clients.
- Tax Compliance: Stay up-to-date on changes in Canadian tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize risks for clients.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and a client-centric approach.
Associate Level (Focus on Execution & Learning):
- Assisting senior staff with tax return preparation and research.
- Data entry and organization for tax files.
- Learning and developing expertise in Caseware software.
- Supporting client communication under supervision.
- Specialist Level (Focus on Expertise & Client Management):
- Managing a portfolio of clients and their tax needs.
- Independently preparing and reviewing complex tax returns.
- Providing tax advice and guidance to clients.
- Utilizing Caseware for tax preparation and analysis.
Team Lead/Manager Level (Focus on Leadership & Oversight):
- Overseeing a team of tax professionals.
- Reviewing and approving tax returns prepared by team members.
- Managing client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Training and mentoring junior staff.
- Contributing to process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Participating in business development activities.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is a plus.
- Specialist/Team Lead: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Relevant professional tax designations (e., CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) are highly desirable.
Experience:
Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations (T1, T2, T3).
- Proficiency in using Caseware tax software.
- Experience with year-end file closure and NTR (Notice to Reader) engagements.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Client-centric approach and commitment to providing excellent service.
