Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Motor Insurance Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in aggregating, comparing, and preparing quotes for private cars, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles. The primary responsibilities include preparing quotations for new car purchases, renewal, and rollover business, crafting policies, and utilizing their network to establish strong relationships with insurance companies. The candidate should possess an in-depth understanding of all motor insurance products and demonstrate the ability to identify optimal coverages for our clients. Proficiency in underwriting various retail insurance products is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aggregate, compare, and prepare quotes for private cars, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles.
- Prepare quotations for new car purchases, renewal, and rollover business.
- Craft comprehensive and competitive insurance policies tailored to clients needs.
- Utilize a wide network to establish and maintain relationships with insurance companies.
- Identify and recommend the best possible coverages for clients based on their requirements and risk profiles.
- Stay updated with market trends, insurance regulations, and product offerings to provide informed advice to clients.
- Collaborate with clients, insurance agents, and brokers to address queries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate and underwrite other retail insurance products (if applicable) to expand service offerings.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in motor insurance underwriting.
- Prior experience working with an insurance broking company is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of motor insurance products, underwriting processes, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to identify the most suitable coverages for clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client consultations and negotiations.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
- A network of contacts within the insurance industry is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using insurance underwriting tools and partner portals.
